The seed for becoming a graphic designer was planted in 1982 when Aimee’s family bought their first Apple 2GS computer in Brownsville, Texas.
I spent hours drawing in Paintshop, creating banners, and even did a little graphic design work. In those days, you would draw on a grid and assign colors to boxes, kind of like the game Battleship. Graphic Design remained a lifelong hobby I always enjoyed.
After completing a degree in Photography from St. Edward’s University and interning at Feller’s Advertising Agency in Austin, Texas, Aimee went on to pursue a professional career in design.
Prior to AG, Aimee was in commercial real estate working closely with numerous brokers to create highly persuasive sales and marketing presentations, maintain company website and marketing materials, conduct market research and evaluate quarterly market reports. Then for a real estate software company, where her role was to promote industry awareness by attending trade shows, hosting product demos & special events, increase media coverage by serving as media contact, pitching stories to local and national outlets, writing press releases, newsletters, and email campaigns.
Addie has always enjoyed various forms of communication. As a child she loved to write stories. In high school and college she studied Spanish and Journalism. However, it was not until 2007 that she discovered a different kind of communication- visual communication.
After completing a degree in Journalism from the University of Texas she got an internship with Wyatt Brand, where under the direction of Rachel Wyatt she decided to pursue a career in graphic design. After hounding her persistently, Aimee Kirkconnell decided to take her on staff at Akaro Graphics.
Today Addie works as the Junior Designer at Akaro Graphics, assisting Aimee in the construction of web pages as well as print materials. She also assists with the day to day operations of the office. In her free time, she tries to take on individual projects to gain more experience and further her education. She also writes for an internet culture blog: maybeitfeelsgreat.com

From an early age Nate has been drawn to the world of emerging technologies. His ability to see the way that things work and to understand basic mechanics and electronic operations allowed him to start an IT consulting firm in late 2004, primarily out of necessity in order to put himself through California State University, Chico.
Immediately after graduating in 2007 with a degree in Journalism - Public Relations, Nate went to work as an account manager, and eventually as a sales representative at a software solutions company in San Francisco. Wanting to follow one of his ever changing dreams and succumbing to his entrepreneurial drive, Nate joined the Akaro Graphics team as the Account Manager.
